Under the canopy of life some things stick to you, and sometimes they don't. When they do, wouldn't it be nice if they could bring happiness to another human being? These musings are the pine needles of my life.

Lots of Snow

Snowflakes
DAVID KUHRT

Snowflakes
white as frozen light
where darkness dies
and heaven lies
incarnate on the ground.

We have had a heavy dose of snow this winter. Record snowfall for January 22.5 inches, and record snowfall in a 24 hour period. We're running out of places to put it.
The kids have been making forts galore and sledding is in full swing, not like last year when you had to take your chances heading over to the town hill. The snow/ice build up on roofs has been a problem. Roof rakes are a hot commodity and at least one or two neighbors are having leaks.
Our elder neighbor used his snow thrower to create a path though his yard so my son can walk safely over to his friend's house. Snowbanks along the roads are so high you can barely see the tops of the cars let alone a small child walking in the street- not something we're used to.

So do we like all this snow? Yes! Because one of the other perks has been school closings :-) The landscape is just beautiful.
We're getting another storm this week.....
